One of my faaavorite CLT spots, Midwood Smokehouse, is celebrating National BBQ Month in serious style.
Throughout the month of May, you can order specially prepared Knob Creek bourbon-glazed baby back ribs at any Midwood Smokehouse location. The platter ($18) also comes with sweet jalapeño cornbread and mustard-based dill potato salad.

“We are famous for our St. Louis Style Ribs, but we wanted to show off some baby backs for BBQ month,” said executive pitmaster Matt Barry. “We added the Knob Creek Whiskey glaze because we think the sweat and well-rounded flavor elevates the slow smoked baby backs. We continued the smoky sweetness with the jalapeño cornbread, a recipe we have used for special parties for year. The dill mustard potato salad is added to contrast the sweet indulgent dish with a fresh and tangy side.”
Wowza.

Seriously, this platter of food is absolutely delicious. I enjoyed one all by myself and deeply confused the family at the table next to me by snapping all kinds of photos of it… but it was definitely worth the weird looks.
The meal also pairs nicely with Midwood’s Tea Thyme cocktail (Knob Creek bourbon, thyme simple syrup, sweet tea, and lemon). Very refreshing and the perfect summertime drink for bourbon fans.

Sooo don’t wait another moment. Make sure you try these limited time baby back ribs so you can celebrate National BBQ Month the right way!
