More Than Just Pho at iPho

Update [7/10/18]: I’m extremely sad to say that iPho closed its doors at the end of May 2018. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that they’ll re-open somewhere else in Charlotte!

If you follow me on Instagram, you know I’m in LOVE with iPho.

This Vietnamese restaurant has been open on Park Road for a little over a year. I’d had pho from a few places before, but when I tried their bowl, I knew I had found the best.

I’ve gotten to know owner Hien Ly and have written a few articles on pho (including my most recent here.) But as much as I love pho, I knew I needed to branch out and try a few other menu items to get the full iPho effect.

Hien and her team recommended the items below. Enjoy:

Grilled Meat Rolls (Goi Cuon Do Nuong): Meatballs, lettuce, vermicelli, pickled carrot and daikon, and mint rolled in rice paper. Perfectly way to start the meal, especially dipped in that sauce.

Chicken Fried Rice (Com Chien Bo hoac Ga): with peas, carrots, and egg. Vietnamese fried rice isn’t drowning in soy sauce, so it’s a surprisingly light dish. And so tasty.

Vermicelli: rice noodles, lettuce, cucumber, carrots, and peanuts with fish sauce on the side. I tried all the toppings (chicken, shrimp, pork, beef and crispy spring roll) and loved them all. The spring roll is especially amazing.

Vietnamese Yellow Pancake (Banh Xeo): yellow pancake stuffed with shrimp, bean sprouts, and mung bean. This is a half portion, and it’s still huge! Very unique dish that is very popular in Vietnam.

I plan to eat my way around iPho’s menu slowly but surely (I usually can’t resist pho when I visit.) If you’re a fan of Vietnamese food, let me know your favorite dish!

Tell Hien I said hi when you check this place out. 🙂
