Relax at Rooney’s Market in Ayrsley

Update [7/10/18]: Rooney’s Market is now closed. 😦

If you haven’t ventured over to Ayrsley, you’re missing out.

This little community has blown up in the past year with the addition of places like Clean Eatz, Pho Ngon, Carolina Beer Temple, Piedmont Social House, and, of course, Rooney’s Market and Deli.

The folks who brought us Piedmont Social and Harry’s Grille opened this market that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You can also pop in to buy wine, beer, and all kinds of snacks.

Luckily, my office is pretty close to this gem. I went by after work to try a few things off their evening menu (which is HALF PRICE from 4-6pm every day, y’all.) Now that’s a happy 2 hours.

Candied Walnut Salad: mixed greens, candied walnuts, feta, green apple, dried cranberry, citrus vinaigrette. This had the perfect combo of everything you want in a salad.

Street Tacos: garlic-lime chicken, pico de gallo, lettuce, cilantro sour cream. Squeeze that fresh lime on top, and you’ve got delicious little tacos.

Mini Gyro Burgers: lamb, feta, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and tzatziki on mini pita. Absolutely love the presentation of these yummy Greek pitas.

Bistecca Rooney’s: bistro filet, cabernet peppercorn demi, garlic mashed potatoes. Also obsessed with the presentation here. Oh, and the taste.

And can’t forget this gorgeous Strawberry Cheesecake for dessert!

I’m loving the menu and the service at Rooney’s. I’ll definitely be back to try breakfast (BYO breakfast sandwich, bagels) and lunch (salads, soups, wraps, sandwiches).

Make this your destination next time you need a nice night of sharing delicious plates!

This post was created after a complimentary meal from Rooney’s Market. All opinions are my own.
