Get Your Pierogi Fix at Babushka’s Pierogi

Update [7/10/18]: Babushka’s Pierogi is now closed. 😦

I know absolutely nothing about Polish or Russian food. I’ve had plenty of kielbasa in my days and a few run-ins with sauerkraut, but other than that, nada.

I now know that it’s delicious, and I’ll happily get my fix at Babushka’s Pierogi from now on.

This authentic Russian/Polish restaurant is owned by Yuliya Feland and her family, who are all from Russia and have only been in Charlotte for a short three years. Back home, they ran a catering business, and when they moved to the Queen City they noticed a need for the food they know so well.

Everything on the menu is made from scratch, so you know you’re getting the real deal. They sell all kinds of Russian goodies in-store, including cookies, jarred veggies, and their pierogis. There are also plans to sell Polish and Russian beer plus menu additions such as shish kabobs and new sandwiches.

Babushka’s also caters, and they’ll take 20% off your first order.

On to the tastiness…

Berry compote. Such a refreshing drink. Perfectly sweet!

Polish Platter. Kielbasa, stuffed cabbage, braised cabbage, potato & cheese pierogis. Huge fan of pierogis. Could eat them for days.

Samsa. Chicken-stuffed pastry. It reminds me of a chicken-stuffed crescent roll dish my mom used to make us as kids. Very good.

Russian meatballs, sauerkraut, and more potato & cheese pierogis. They also serve a meatball sandwich which I’m totally going back for.

Honey Cake. The photo does do this HUGE slice of cake justice. But isn’t it beautiful? (It tastes beautiful, too.)

Napolean Cake. Once again, huge. But this one is cut rectangularly. The creamy layers are fantastic.

So, there goes my first experience with this wonderful food. Can’t wait to go back.

Give them a follow on Instagram and get hungry!

This post was created after a complimentary meal from Babushka’s Pierogi All opinions are my own.
