Tacos are life. Check out Vida Cantina & Vida Vida.

Is it just my opinion, or does the Epicentre feel a little overwhelming at times? Sure, it’s full of great places to dine and drink, but sometimes that leaves me unsure of where to go. Too many options, I guess.

I notice Vida Cantina every time I visit this adult playground but had never ventured inside… until last week. I think I found the perfect place make Epicentre dinnertime decision-making a little easier.

My marg. Don’t think it’s on the menu, so just ask.

Vida Cantina (and its counterpart, Vida Vida) are located on the corner of East Trade Street. You can’t miss ’em. I dined at Vida Cantina with the lovely sales and marketing manager, Ann Marie, and I had a great time learning about these two spots. Here’s the breakdown…

Vida Cantina

First and foremost, the food and drink. I started with a simple margarita made with 1800 coconut tequila and agave nectar. Literally felt like I was chillin’ on a tropical island. Loved it. We shared the handcrafted guacamole, and I had the Shrimp Jalapeño Bacon tacos (grilled shrimp w/jalapeño bacon, cheese, cilantro, pico, and mango habanera salsa). Everything was very fresh, and I loved the side of rice and beans.

Vida Cantina is a great spot for business lunches, private parties, or dinner with friends. They have some pretty cool weekly events, including a Taco Sociale every Thursday from 5 – 7 PM. You can enjoy $2 featured tacos, $3 Coronas, and a selection of three craft beers for $4 each, which rotate each month. And margs are 1/2 off on Wednesdays at both restaurants!

Vida Vida

This taco bar is Vida Cantina’s newer counterpart and has a bit of a different vibe. It’s more casual and is known for its quick service (which is especially wonderful during your lunch hour). It’s the only taco bar in the area, so take advantage. As for nightlife, they rotate between DJs and acoustic performers for your entertainment. Note that Vida Vida is usually open just as late as the other bars in the Epicentre, so don’t count it out at 1 AM.

Righteous Rewards

Both Vidas have a fun program running to reward frequent diners. Every dollar spent equates to points, and when you reach 150 points, you receive $10 for your next visit. Plus, you get a free queso for signing up. Why not?

Upcoming Events

Vida Cantina and Vida Vida are always planning exciting events and programs. Stay tuned for some March Madness craziness, a taco of the month feature, and a 5-course tasting/tequila dinner. Mmmm.

I hope you choose either of these spots next time you need an upbeat, tasty place to hang out Uptown. Go get yo’self some tacos.

This post was created after a complimentary meal from Vida Cantina. All opinions are my own.
