Hi people! Sorry it’s been a while. The craziness of the holidays has put me a little behind on blogging. But I’m back at it to talk about a Charlotte favorite: handcrafted cocktails.
A few weeks ago, I attended the Art of the Modern Cocktail Party, the kick-off event for the winter edition of the Cheers to the Queen City Cocktail Tour.
In case you aren’t familiar with the tour, here’s a quick run down. Now until March 15, with an official passbook in hand, you’ll be able to order a special cocktail for only $5 each from the participating 25 restaurants/bars. In a city full of delicious but often pricey handcrafted cocktails, who could pass up that deal? (Buy your passbook here.)
To get the three-month-long party started, we enjoyed six cocktails paired with tasty bites from three restaurants: Bistro La Bon (the gracious host), Passion 8, and Vivace. I was too busy drooling over the dishes to snap food photos, but I did happen to capture the oysters. Yum.

Here are the drinks we sipped on and a few of the paired dishes. Side note: Chef Majid of Bistro La Bon made his menu day-of after returning from a trip to Spain, so I don’t have those dishes listed. But trust me… They were excellent.

P.S. Chef Luca from Passion 8 prepared another incredible dish: Risotto with Black Truffle in a Parmigiana Wheel. Need this back in my life ASAP.

Excited?? Hope I see some of you out there while I’m making use of my own passbook. Share your faves on social media using the hashtag #QCcheers. Happy drinking!
