Charlotte Restaurants

On the Right Trail

As you know, I’ve been to many restaurants in Charlotte. I think I’ve done a pretty good job of trying something new at least once per week. But there are SO many places to visit and so many neighborhoods in this city. It’s hard to keep up, even for a hungry girl like me.

So when I was invited to The Trail House in Indian Trail, NC, I was pumped to step outside my ‘hood for some good food and great company.

I had the pleasure of dining with Charlene, the wife of a co-owner of this 3-month-old restaurant. I loved learning about the Trail House. They offer a menu full of something for everyone, from burgers to fresh salads to must-have appetizers. The dining area is super spacious with lots of rustic, wooden decor, and the bar is lit up by mason jar lights.

There’s always something fun going on, too. Yoga on Tuesdays,  live bands, and exciting Panther game viewings (10-0, how ’bout that?!)… you name it! You can have a good time here any night of the week.

On to the food… YUM. I sampled a few dishes and loved every one. Check them out here.

Trail mix, a complimentary start to your meal. Yes, that is Cap’n Crunch. And it’s such a treat.

Lobster Corn Dogs – lobsters and peppers rolled in cornbread batter, served with sweet chili aioli. Enough said.
trail4
Asian Glazed Brussel Sprouts – pan seared with bacon. Love Asian, love brussel sprouts. Great combo.
trail3
Totchos – tater tots smothered with slow roasted short ribs, southern gravy, mozzarella, cheddar, and an over-easy egg. Goodness in a bowl.
trail6
Trail House Grilled Cheese – pulled pork, homemade mac and cheese, mozzarella cheese. Can’t go wrong with this sandwich!
trail7
Cold Chinese Salad – quinoa, pickled red onions, charred veggies, soy ginger vinaigrette, and ahi tuna. DELICIOUS. I’m such a sucker for tuna.

If you’re looking for a new place to try, a fun bar to watch the next football game, or a great spot for happy hour with your people, choose The Trail House.  You may find your new favorite hang out.
