If you follow me on MyFab5, you may have noticed my extensive bucket list of restaurants to visit that seems to grow every hour. Charlotte is full of amazing restaurants, but you’ll also find a brewery around every corner, and I love checking them off that list! On Tuesday, I took my first trip to Olde Mecklenburg Brewery (fondly referred to as OMB). Tuesdays are OMB “Yoga on Tap” nights, where you pay $5 to take a group yoga class and have a beer. I’d like to tell you that’s why I went, but no…not the case. Strictly for the beer (and bonding with co-workers!) Maybe one day…
Anyway, OMB is awesome. The Biergarten is massive, with rows and rows of benches and umbrellas. There’s a kiosk where you can order beer or German bar bites and a food truck that prepares the food. If you’d rather chill inside, the indoor area is equally as cool and serves a larger menu (gotta go back and check that out).
I’ve tried OMB’s Copper and Capt Jack brews, so I went with the Southside Weiss. So good. Reminded me of Blue Moon. I also ordered the lovely pretzel pictured above and shared fries with my group. The best part was the BEER CHEESE that came with the fries. Does it get any better than that??

Can’t wait to go back to OMB. There’s a Pretzel Melt (ham, cheese and spicy mustard between a warm pretzel) calling my name…
